Rams See Improvements At Receiver Position, While Dallas Sees Improvement At Quarterback?

After an exciting game this past Saturday, both Dallas and LA showed what their newly drafted rookies were capable of. The performance from rookie quarterback Dak Prescott on Saturday’s preseason game against the Rams could be easily described as above expectation. Prescott went 10-12 for 139 yards, including a 32 yard pass completion to Terrence Williams for one of his two touchdowns in the game. Cowboys’ owner, Jerry Jones, said he’s pleased with the performance from his rookie quarterback out of Mississippi State but “Let’s not put him in the Hall of Fame just yet.” I believe if Tony Romo fails to produce early on this season, we might see more from this rookie quarterback who had a solid first career start.

Another player that stood out on Saturday’s game was Rams rookie receiver Nelson Spruce out of Colorado. With a struggling Rams offense that couldn’t seem to get a drive going, Spruce seemed to light a fire under the offense late in the game with 51 reception yards and a touchdown, leading the Rams to a 28-24 victory over the Cowboys. For the Rams, Spruce may prove to be a solid slot receiver which they lacked last season. With excellent rookie performances from both sides, I think we’re in for some big surprises this NFL season.
