Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck signed a six year 140 million dollar contract back in February, making him the highest paid player in NFL history. It is surprising that Colts owner Jim Irsay would go all in with his quarterback Andrew Luck after an 8-8 season, and leading the league with turnovers in his performance last season. With a salary of just over 23 million a year, and a tremendous shrink in cap room, Luck will seem to have the weight of the entire team on his shoulders. However, with wide receivers Donte Moncrief, Phillip Dorsett and TY Hilton, Luck has many weapons at his disposal. Another addition to the team is at the running back position with Robert Turbin who proved to be a solid go-to option while with Seattle. The Colts also drafted center Ryan Kelly out of Alabama to help with their struggling offensive line.
With talented receivers, improvements to their offensive line, and a running back that can take the load off of veteran running back Frank Gore, the Colts will look to get their offense going. This would take some pressure off their defense, which seemed to stay on the field last season. Luck explained that there is no pressure going into this season with his new contract, however he will need the help of his supporting cast to get the job done this upcoming season.
